How to Create a Stylish But Motivational Office Space

Whether you work at home or in an office cubicle, you need a space that is both motivational and stylish. After all, if you're not motivated, then nothing gets done! Fortunately, creating an interior design scheme for your office that does both is surprisingly easy once you know a few basics. Here are a few tips and tricks on how to create a stylish but motivational office space.
Many businesses don't see the true value in creating a visually appealing, motivational office space. This doesn't necessary mean throwing up a few tacky motivational themed framed wall posters or putting out any other tacky interior design elements, either. That being said, a motivational space can increase productivity and help the company get more for their money. Happy workers are productive workers and productive workers mean more money for the bottom line.
Focus on Color
Color can be a huge influence in a work space. The wrong dull, gray hue (ahem, such as the cubicles that so many of us are used to) can actually be counterproductive and make the employees feel tired or burnt out, even if it's 8 a.m. on their second week of work.
Instead, opt for colors that inspire or motivate, or colors that refresh. This can include shades of green, blue or yellow. Avoid reds and oranges, as though they can be visually appealing and provoke thoughts of passion in some situations, they can also create anger and hostility-not something that's wanted in the work space. Therefore, try to avoid red and orange for your office space decorating ideas.
Stay Organized
Organization is key for a motivational work space. If you've got clutter everywhere, it can be extremely distracting. Plus, clutter is never good, especially not in interior design. Don't be afraid to run down to your favorite local store and invest in a few different organizers: filing cabinets, sorting bins and other items that are suited to your specific home office or business needs.
Proper Lighting
Every space in the home or in a business needs proper lighting. Without the proper lighting, even the most beautiful of interior design can look dated and dreary. Don't be afraid to invest not only in a ceiling fixture for general lighting, but also in light fixtures such as desk lamps for task lighting.
Display What You Love
Whether it's wall decor or a few desktop statues, if you don't love the space you're working in, it's going to deter you from working. Even better, you can incorporate the items you love into an overall interior design scheme for a motivational but stylish space.
Add Some Life
By life, we mean plants. Plants not only clean the air, they add a touch of natural influencing to the space. Nature in general tends to feel refreshing and new, so what better way to create refreshing interior design than by blending your decorating ideas with a few living plants? Afraid they'll die from lack of water? Invest in a self-watering globe, make a note on your calendar to refill it once a week and viola, you're done!
